Does anyone know if there are any elemental beings with the power of spirit or soul?

I'm writing a fanfic for the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. My main character is an empath who not only can experience the emotions of others, but her abilities strengthen and evolve when she's around other psychics. I've decided I want her to be descended from some kind of magical being with the power of spirit or soul. Kind of like an elemental for the fifth element. So far I've found creatures for fire, earth, air and water but I can't seem to find anything resembling what I'm looking for. If any of you know of one or where I can find info, please let me know. Also, if I have to make it up, I'm going to need a name for the being so maybe a few ideas on that front. Thanks so much.
