Random lag spikes are occurring on the internet?

My router worked fine for the past 3 months, but now, whenever I am on the internet, I get random lag spikes for about 5-10 seconds every minute or so... It's so ******* annoying... I don't know why this is happening, but I'm pretty sure it cannot be my computer because the lag happens on the internet and whatever program i am running doesn't freeze, I just get a connection interrupted error... What can I do to fix? I've tried everything I know. Updating my router's firmware, power cycling the modem and router, restoring the router to factory settings. I even went to ping test but it says that I have perfect A+ connection with no packet loss, and around 2-5 of jitter. I don't know what to do... Should I try dusting my computer? Get a different router? I need someone smarter then me...
